I guess it might not be so paleo to use silk backing anymore, although it might be a killer backing anymore!  ;D

Interesting. I saw a show (I think it was Nova) where they implanted the spider genes into goats. The goats would then produce the spider silk protein in their milk which was separated out as a way to commercially produce spider silk.

Wow... We, as a species, are absolutely insane.
