I had a blast. It was nice to see some old friends and make some new ones. There were lots of cool bows there. I think we set a world record for highest concentration of Strunk wraps in a 100' area.  ;D If anyone is hard up for some field points I'm pretty sure Bryce left about a half dozen out on the 3D course.  ;)

Hahaha yeah buddy! Didn't think there was gonna be serious shooting going on so I brought my junk arrows but I think I'm gonna stick with these Doug fir shafts.
Shot a lot better with those then the POC.
Maybe I'll hit up Carson for some more.

Great fun, a lot of Strunk wraps for sure. I soaked up a lot of knowledge from them old fellers  ;D

Now that's funny!  Looks like a great turn out and fun time.  We still have a foot of snow here at our house and it was single digits this morning.  May be a little harsher weather, then where you all live but sure was nice inside the shop sanding a bumpy yew bow!   ;D

Hey be careful who you call an old fellar  :o

I don't think I've ever seen this much raw bowyer talent in one place before. These young fellars are ripping it up. Must be something in the water.

Keenan, you boys on the east side best strap in - there's a big wave coming your way...  ;D

This was a great event, and I cant wait to do it again. As a rookie bowyer It was very cool to see and touch some of the bows that come up on the PA forum. It was all really inspiring to get working on some of the great staves that I have sitting around.

Yeah kip the sun was a nice surprise but I don't think it got above 34:)

Yeah it's a pretty good range, worth the hour drive. I might be going there more often:)

Got a couple e-mails this morning from some of the wheelie bow guys we met, and from someone else in the area wanting to get into natural material bows.... There must be something in this Oregon water  :o

Yep they found this website and the post and asked for a good learning resource. I told him about the TTBB.
And another guy named Keith emailed me saying he lived in Olympia and was looking for some extra help so I pointed him in Brian's direction :) (I hope that's alright)

Stickbow Evangelism!  Preachin' and teachin' the Faith!

Loved those photos of the piles of stickbows.  Prettiest pile of curvaceous creativity!

We should have lined up all the wood bows at the gathering all together. that would have looked pretty awesome.

That looks like it was a great time!  I recognize quite a few of those bows in the pics.  Someday, I'm gonna figure out how to do that Strunk wrap.  I have a Pacific yew elb in the works and that wrap is the only wrap that it will get.  Even if I have to hire one of you Pacific northwestern bowyers to do it!  Josh

Josh, I hope you recognize at least one of those bows in the pile! There was a Prairie Rattler slithering around in there.  ;) Everybody thought your bow was awesome. I can't wait to see your elb, you should post some WIP pics.

Thanks Bryce! That pseudo-plains style bow does sort look out of place with all those Strunk-wrapped longbows.  It's funny how there are still regional styles even today.  Josh
