Title: j simpson drawknife??

hi there i picked up this drawknife yesterday from a friend he gave it me for £10.00 so i was well pleased.  it looks old and has hardly been used, the blade is 12" long. he got it from a skip. i was just wondering if J. Simpson is the makers name? or will it just be an old owners name. i tryed to google it but nothing came up.thanks danny.

Simpson is probably the manufacturer's name,,,just guessing, though.
