A little long winded but here we go. I built my Niece and Nephew bows for Christmas, my first attempt at slightly snaky staves. One of the bows is also my first attempt at a D bow, I had a big knot in the handle area so I ended up with less bend in the handle than intended. The bottom limb of the D bow had two loose knots that I pulled out and left'em as knot holes. The D bow is for 6 year old nephew a little over 30# @ 27" 1.25" near middle started with 1.5" that is why I chose to do a D bow about .375" at tips 51" NTN. The stiff handle flat bow is for my 8 year old Niece 1.75" at fades .5" at tips 51" NTN 30# @ 24". The bows were from sister staves re flexed a little with dry heat. snake skinned and wrapped with jute added a beaded tassel to nieces bow. Because their Xmas bows my wife and I had to mottle the full draw and I'm not as cranky as I look (really) but just as homily :o

I want some fudge too. Great looking bows. They will never know how much work went into these gifts, that just makes them even more special.

Wow! Great looking bows there, eye candy for sure. If these are both their first bows I'd say they are starting out with the best, very nicely done and beautiful skins. 8)
