A few weeks ago Will and I decided it was time to make a trade. So with my limited skill set he took pity on me and let me get the better of the deal. In exchange for a bow made by him, the wood chosen by Pappy (man I really did luck out!) and an idea to use a design from Shannon, we commenced to talking. In the end he got a few arrows and I got a new bow. I threw in a knife and another half dozen arrows just because the bow was so nice he really deserved more. The bow shoots really nice and I’m a proud owner of it. Last month was a good one for me. I got a Pappy Bow and a Will Bow all in the same month!
It’s an Osage 64” tip to tip, 62” ntn. It draws 47# @ 27”. Will Trapped the back.
Jimmy (RangerB) picked it up last weekend and shot it, hitting 11 “10 Rings” in a row. Will reminded him the name of the bow (10 Ring) was because that’s all it will shoot. The bow has 10 rings and shoots 10’s so thus the name.
Thanks Pappy for the choice in woods, and Thanks Will for a great bow, you guys are great friends.

A new bow needs new arrows so I made a dozen of those to go with it.

While I was at it I made Pappy a dozen, because, well, he needed a few and he gave me his arrow shafts to fix up for him. ;D ;D

That is a sweet stick for sure. Congratulations.
-
Im glad you like it buddy :) hope you kill somethin with it ;)
-
That is a sweet stick right there. What are the skins on it? Also, did you say trapped back? Trapping a back on Osage? With Skins...hmmm..not a bad idea.
-
They skins are timber rattler slit down the middle. Yeah I trapped the back a little as well just to see what would happen. It turned out to be a real performer! Although I don't have any real data to back that up ::)

SWEEET!!!! ;D

You got yourself a great bow Jon, Will did a fantastic job on that one, I can't get any of my bows to shoot nothing but 10's :(
I'm sure you'll enjoy that bow for a long time.

Nice works guys!! Very easy on the eye! Too bad they used an inferior bow wood. Guess that means you will have to replace it in 100 years. ::). Oh well, go ahead and shoot for awhile anyway...
AND ENJOY IT!!!

Good thing, cuz if you were a Vikings fan those arrows would have to be for short range shooting. Everyone knows the Vikes can't get past the 10 yd line!
You do know why they chose purple for their uniforms, right? Cuz that's the color you turn when you choke.
-
very very cool, I apologize for not having a better vocabulary to express how I feel. I really like your bow.

Thanks buddy.
I only hope the new Yew I'm building can measure up to the one your building at Twin Oaks!

What is the brace height on that bow? Looks to me around 7 inches? More than 6 anyway...

The brace height is 6-3/8". I shoot my bows in and then after a few hundred I'll start looking for the sweet spot. It seems to always be different on every selfbow for some reason.

Now time to hunt with this bow and hit the mark!
