Title: Antler Pressure Flaking (final video)
Post by: iowabow on December 12, 2012, 01:35:54 pm
This is a short demo on how I have learned to use the antler pressure flaker. First there is a short video on my approach to setting up platforms and following ridges to reduce the thickness and flatten curved biface. The photos were taken after the Ishi stick was used and the opposite side was reduced. Enjoy!

Cool video.  Been working on a bow for my daughter so I haven't knapped lately.  Watching this kinda gave me the fever.

I made two videos. The first video is about how to set a median ridge up (it is a little boring because I dont talk much). The second video is about finishing with overshot work and thoughts on finishing the point

Nice work, John. That first video helped me to understand why you are keeping the platforms so high.
