This bow came as quite a pleasant surprise in every way to me. It is made from a cherry board, which i have access to a lot of now due to a new connection in the woodworking business. it is 68 inches long, with a 4 inch static handle and 3 inch fades. the handle covering is purse leather, and the handle riser is another length of the same board, glued on with titebond one. in the picture of the artwork on the belly, the upper limb is marked by a rosette on the corresponding fade. it has taken about a half an inch of set after 250 shots. finish is boiled linseed oil. the limbs are 1 and 5/8 inches wide until the last 12 inches of the limb, where they taped to 3/8 inch tips. this is a very fast shooting bow, and extremely light in the hand. definitely one of my new favorites. as always, comments welcome and encouraged! hope ya like it!

Nice shape. Like cherry it's one of my faves to work with. Nice smell, patina and color. Does it really stand up over time as a bow is my question.... :-\

well., i have a 53 inch bendy handled plains style cherry recurve that draws 72 pounds that ive put over a thousand arrows through that still performs spectacularly well. i think it stands the test of time just foine, as long as you care for it and carefully work it into a bow.

Wow, that looks like a really thick bow. Is cherry super soft? Looks like a real shooter!!!

I think its awesome. I have some leather handles made from a women's leather dress that I bought at a second hand store. Lots of material and nice and thin, for just a few bucks. The dress actually fit me too. kidding.
Ok, now tell me that is your son in the picture and not you so I can begin to reassemble my shattered ego :(

Nice work. Some Cherry's can be brash, and I'm glad you got a nice bow from it. I'd love to see a pic of the bendy handle recurve.
Careful where you point that broadhead!

That's very impressive how little set you got with cherry and those specs and dimensions. Did the wood feel very dense while working it? Thanks for sharing!

That looks great! I really like the artwork
Gonna try cherry for the first time next year January :)

Thank you to all of you! Now to answer the questions, that is me in the photos, I am 16. The bow is thicker than Inormally end up with, but I dont normally do board bows. This cherry was not as dense as I usually work with, id estimate a .65 sg, .55 at the lowest. I normally work extremely dense, locally harvested cherry. And Iwill post that bendy handled recurve later today :)

Nice bow, has a good looking bend to it. Looks like you draw to 28" - 30" ?

What's not to like? Great bend on a wood that can be persnickety! Wanna see the other you mentioned.

Nice job T&M! Ain't nothin wrong with them board bows!!

Nice bow :)

Very nice bow and great looking tiller. That also one heck of a point you got there. Well done.

Very nice bow! I like the bend to it, as well as the paint job. How much mass does it have? It looks quite large but you say it's light... You've done well to leave it fat then, had you applied the measures used for an osage bow you would have wound up with a real wimp. :P
Well done.

I have read many more negatives about cherry than positives, I think you could change many minds with that bow. Great job.

thank you all! it really is great to have access to a resource like this. as for the mass, im not sure, as i dont have a metric scale :( i shall have to acquire one. that arrowhead, believe it or not, is only 135 grains! i use it for small game ;) its made out of handsaw steel, so its light and resilient, but does a lot of damage.
