Hey guys, thought I'd stick a few pics up of my new arrows. They're the first set I've ever made (had a few practices on bits of dowel offcut though) and they're 11/32s spined at 40/45 of Boyton Pine.

Nice Arrows. Where did you get the points?
-
They're Mod Bods from Richard Head in the UK. Closest thing I've seen to medieval bodkins that you can use for target/field shooting!
-
Um, for your first set your wrappings look fantastic!
-
Cheers! Took flippin' ages! I didn't realise how tricky it was cutting fletchings to shape either, until I read about the masking tape method halfway through the set. They're not as uniform as I'd have liked, but they seem to shoot well enough.

Very good work, WillS. Congrats!

Looks great

Great looking arrows.

What kind of wood are thsoe shafts?
-
They're Premium Boyton Pine.

Very nice set for anyone, much less you first. :o Ace makes a point similar to that, I bought some but haven't used them yet. :) The grain looks prefect on the shafting. :)

Cheers Pappy! The points are great, but they do snag a bit in some targets which some clubs might get funny about. They really do look amazing though, especially if you're a medieval obsessive like myself!

Sharp looking arrows. Love the attention to detail.

Very nice indeed! Like it was said for the first, or of many, those are nice! Especially the wrapping! I tried that once. Yep once! Only thing I would suggest is a smaller diameter thread. You might try some upholstery thread, from a craft store that carries cloth and sewing supplies. It is thinner, and very strong. Again VERY Nice, especially for your first set. Pappy "ACE" ????? I need to get some target points. Thanks,
Wayne

very nice!...you obviously have a real eye .
masking tape eh?.....now why didn't i think of that?
-
Great looking set there for your first time.

Thanks everybody! Already on my next set, as I made a mistake with the spining and had to sand them all down which made a couple too weak near the point.
Ordered a new set of 35-40 spine arrows but they were still way too heavy which is pretty confusing. Will just have to be more careful sanding them down this time!
Really appreciate all the replies though, nothing like having your early work congratulated by those with so much experience!

great work man! wow

ah, I should drop by here more often... very stylish arrows!
