I have made this from a two years old, thin and hollow elderberry sapling. I had seen a bow by druid made this way and I wanted to try it. It works very well and is very quickly done. It has immediately become my default bow, very sweet shooting.
67", 47# @ 27", 15 ounces mass.

Good job...its always fun watching a budding bowyer develop and grow...good bend and unbraced stick, that's usually a mark to know if it was made well or not...keep it up ;)

With bows like that, it is really a shame that it wont get to go out hunting......it's really nice

That's like a beautiful woman that doesn't need makeup. Natural beauty! Great job. What was the diameter of the tree?

simple and very cool and clean. I like that style alot. Also, that is a nice picture at full draw with the winter snow all around. I don't know what is going on here in Kansas, but it seems like our winters are disapearing. Keep up the good work my man.

Beautifully simple

Well done!!!

That bow looks fantastic! Did you remove the heartwood or am I seeing things? :)
-
thanks everybody, nice to know you like it. ;D Jackcrafty: I did not have to remove anything, these grow hollow by nature. Beadman: I hope you find one, everyone that has used elderberry is delighted. They grow decent here, not trees, but big enough for many bows. I attached you a pic of one just next to my house.

Beautiful bow, love it in all aspects. :)
