very nice bows Bowman, and nice pictures
why was the kings bow too weak?
-
Thanks ;D That words was said by the famous viking archer Einar Tambarskjelve. He lost his bow in the battle of "Svolder" He was fighthing for his king Olav Trygvasson. The king gave Einar his bow. Einar broke the kings bow at the first shot. Then the words came......Einar was a very strong and handsome man. He was shooting heavy viking warbows. 150#.......... a real hero. :-)

Thank you. Have you seen that kind of bow before? It's a Sioux selfbow replica. it's really fast. :-)
-
Very cool weapon. Painted Lakota bow. Bad pic but you can see some similarities.
-
Thanks. Like it. The handle is more correct on your bow. :-)
-
Wish it were my bow! Museum piece.

That's a cool looking bow. I like the detail in ymthe nocks. Nice job all around.
-
Thats a cool looking bow and arrows as well.
-
Stunner. Must make a replica one day.
Would look even better if you took the screw outa the handle ;)
-
Yes. I'll think I'm going to modify the handle. Thanks. :-)
-
Love your reproduction bow Bowman. Your string on the upper nock should be pulled through the loop so that it is more secure. I've attached a photo to show what I mean. Curtis

Very good use of that hickory.Very nice set of arrows too.Did you say what your arrows are made out of?
-
;D Thanks for the advice. I make a loop. I think the original drawing is equipped with that sort of a string. Thanks. The arrows are made of 8mm. pine. Turkey trueflight and field points. I will make some new arrows for the bow later. With wild turkey feathers and maybe some hawk feathers.
