I have some friends the manage and guide at Pheasant Bonanza here in east central Nebraska. They asked the other day if it was possible to take a pheasant with a traditional bow. I don't know if they were issuing a challenge or just teasing, but we sure had a good time either way! I got three shot opportunities due to wind, proximity to adjacent properties, dog placement, etc. The first flush scared me half to death, even though I was expecting it. Needless to say I didn't take that shot. The second was this rooster. The third was a little chucker that I missed just under the left wing. The best part of the day, though, was demonstrating to the fellas at the club just how versatile and effective the traditional bow still is. :)

Very cool to have done it with a bow!! My son is at a hunt club today but is using a 12 gauge cannon!!LOL

Nice job! 1 for 3 is my average on deer this year, and for pheasants I'd say it's real good! Congrats.

Congratulations! Good shooting.

I know one guy that has been shooting bows of one ilk or another for over 30 years, has thrown hundreds of arrows at pheasants and has only gotten feathers on two, none connected enough to stop the bird from flying off with a wicked laugh.
Atta boy, not bad for a Cornhusker!

Way too cool. Congrats!

Nice job on that one! I dove hunted with snarrow tipped arrows one time. I wish I had film of it. It was pretty funny. I scared a few of them, though!! ;D
