Title: First double
Post by: osage outlaw on November 18, 2012, 05:49:34 pm
Not Primitive Archery related:

Yesterday was opening day of our gun season in Indiana.  I bought a bundle license that allowed me to get one buck and two doe no matter what season.  I already got my buck so all I needed was two doe.  I put my niece's boyfriend in my best stand so I took the stand I have in the valley behind my house.  I had seen 3 doe and 1 buck early but only had a shot at the buck.  At 9:30 the sun was peeking into the valley and it was still foggy.  I heard something to my left and saw a doe coming out of the fog towards me.  There was another one a few yards behind her.  I let the first one get to 20 yards and shot.  She dropped straight to the ground.  The second doe was looking around trying to figure out what happened.  I took the shot at her and she ran 30 yards and piled up.  I center punched her heart.  I was very happy about getting two until we had to drag them out.  They were both healthy.  Now my freezer will be full and I can get back to bow making.

If I went all primitive my freezer would be empty  :-[    I can't have that.

You're right about Thanksgiving Pat.  The kids are spending the day at the grandparents house and the wife has to work.  I'll be home alone so I think I'll BBQ up a big mess of deer and potatoes.  I'll eat until it hurts to breath and then watch some football until I have to leave for work.
