broke a few out today between spalling raw rock. I got a Hillsborough out of Hernando County, FL chert. and an extra long Osceola out of keokuk. Neither are as perfect as I would like them, but each have a nice "show" side. All abo as usually. and for what it is worth...I hate knapping FL chert!!! It always breaks..lol

Both look really nice to me. Good work.

Looks good to me

Both are really nice I really like the second one though

Heck I have a problem with Texas chert breaking also. Both are fine looking points. Tower

nice stickers twisted, Bub
-
good looking points, i always enjoy looking at the stuff you make
-
Fine looking points. I wish I had some of that high quality looking Fl chert. That stuff is candy when heat treated.
-
thanks. Yeah Eddie. I am dying for more of this particular piece. It was laying on top of the ground all by itself in the middle of no where... just one egg shaped nodule bout the size of a football.
-
I'm assuming it was brought in by a Native and left since it was out of place... I just want to know where he got it. I am going to do some snooping around after deer season. could have been from a sinkhole long since filled in. :-\

Nice points like the color in the FL stone.

Got lucky on another one this morning. The stone isn't quite a pretty but overall the point is better

Another nice one. It's a Marion with the rounded base. That's about the only way to tell the three styles apart. Marions are round, Newnans flat, and Hillsboroughs are short triangles.
-
Yup, now that I am making them I finally can remember which ones are which. ;D yeah I wanted one of each.. this one was supposed to be a Newnan... ::) but "someone" snapped a little corner off the tang and had to round it instead.

I haven't seen a bad point on this post yet. Tower

Love that long one.

Those are beauty points. ' Frank

Love that long skinny one. Almost like a spear point.
