Well here it is!
Knife River flint
made it with a copper flaker I put together

hopefully the first of many! too bad we can't hunt with them up here in ND

Are you sure that is your first point? It looks waaaaaay much better than my first. Keep chipping them out.

wellllll I was told its just a stone until its a point! haha there were definately a few "stones" that have been tossed in the back weeds before I got this one made hahaha.

I have some knife river 1 piece in the works For the last year To get a point that size idI have to start with a 12 inch preform >:D good job ;)

Thanks for all the encouragement fellas. The stone seems to work pretty well in my extremely limited experience, however the stuff I found has quite a bit of impurities in it that you have to work around. I think once I get a better hand pad made that has a little recess in it, I should be able to get longer flakes? I think my flakes now were short because they were ending where they met the leather I used as a hand pad?

Nice point there ud. looks like you did your homework before getting started. Where @ in ND? My Dad's from Valley City, spent a lot of time there in my youth, haven't been back for way too long. keep up that kanppin, dpgratz
