Not Cocobolo specifically but it's safe to say that any "Dalbergia" species has what it takes to be belly wood.

I thought so ,but was wondering if anyone had a living example of a bow.I salvaged a bunch from a boardroom table at a lawyers office Demolition .Found it again while moving lumber the other day and said "HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?" ::)

I've only ever used cocbolo as tip overlay accents and handle lam accents. It's too expensive, unless acquired  like you did.
