Here's a bi-face i reduced. it was much large, but i was using a hammer-stone which i have never used before, i also was following basic movements and patterns for reduction that paleomanjim on youtube does(30 year knapper.)

i should add that this is my first time thinning with percussion and didn't break in half or become super thick in the middle.

Did you percussion that small piece with that hammer stone? Pressure would have accomplished it also.

i did, however, i started with a much larger piece but wound up getting smaller and smaller... but it was a learning experience in terms of learning to thing with percussion.

When thinning with percussion, as the preform or blank gets smaller, so must your percussion tool. My experience. Tower
