Title: ? What to do?
Post by: Auggie on November 01, 2012, 11:24:02 am

Well dang if Murphy aint all but helped me all I can stand. First a very promising persimmon had to go an break, then this HHB had to have a crack that runs off to the side of the nock.  >:(  Don't think a wrap will work,so splice them together?  Throw in the reject barrel?

Splice them together...just for the fun of it. One limb would be hhb, the other persimmon. You could name it frankenstein. Perfect halloween bow.

Before I started putting tip overlays on all my bows, I had a bow split just like that, but from the nock groove down. I think the person I gave the bow to only had the string in one groove. Regardless of how it happened, from that point on I have always added overlays.  On that particular bow, I then added extra long overlays and a wrap, and that bow has been shooting for years now.  The tips are stiff for the last 6 inches or so.
