Title: vine maple gull
Post by: Shaun on October 27, 2012, 06:29:02 pm
Had this vine maple stave from TreeKiller (Keith) with a natural gull wing profile - couple of knots with bends and a deflex swoop between them. It just called to be this shape. Looks a little weird but shoots fine. VM is very light and easy to work with good spring to it. It is soft like yew so I put pear tip overlays. Deerskin handle wrap, light application of "fruit wood" stain to tone down the bright white of VM and TruOil finish. 65 1/2" NTN 51# @ 28"

Nice Shaun! You sure do get a sweet bend into your bows, that tiller shot is a thing of beauty.   8)
