Title: Stringman's points work great!
Post by: H Rhodes on October 26, 2012, 10:01:49 am
I took this doe while she and three others were feeding under a hot white oak tree on Wednesday morning.  Used the white oak bow that I posted in September, 50lb draw weight, with cane arrows and one of Stringman's excellent chert points.   She was a big doe for our area.  I couldn't find the arrow.  Even though it was a good heart shot she still ran about 250 yards or so.  It was a fine morning to be in the woods.

Thanks a lot!  It was a fine hunt.  Nine days into our almost FOUR months of bow hunting...   Yee haw!

Thanks guys.  Yeah, I read one of his posts where he was wondering about the effectiveness of his points....  I was shooting a cane arrow with one of his points and got a pass through of sorts...  My hit was a little low and the deer was about ten steps away from a tree that I was about twelve feet up....  Heart shot that came out the bottom of the chest between the front legs. I think Scott's points are as good as any I have ever seen, and the meat in my freezer is a testament to their effectiveness!  Thanks again Scott.  If you have ever tried to draw a bowstring with three mature does all within twelve yards of you, then you know a little something about sitting still and being patient.  I didn't get a chance to move a muscle for almost fifteen minutes!

Nice shot from the looks of that wound and plenty of season remaining.
Congratulations and go get another one for the freezer.

That is AWESOME!! I am super excited for ya Howard! That is exactly what I expect from these points. I know their potential and hate that I was doubting my end game last week. But seeing you finish the deal with basically the same setup I'm using makes me feel great!!

Well done, Sir!!

Scott

Alright Howard! Way to go buddy, that's a good looking deer and you made a real nice shot on her. Your white oak bow and that stone point looks to have worked beautifully. Congrats on a job well done. :) :)
