Title: First Blood
Post by: VicNova on October 18, 2012, 10:14:30 pm
Here is a squirrel I shot while I was waiting for deer. The arrow took it right in the back of the neck and through the temple. I shot it with my 45# hickory longbow that I had made this year and had posted on the sight for tiller help. First kill of the season for me, now I've just got to get a deer.  ;D

After that, shooting a deer will be a chip shot. :)  Good shooting.

Hey hey, that's a worthy harvest! Looks like you're ready for deer when the opportunity presents itself. ;)

Congratulations!  If you can hit a squirrel...a deer will be no problem.  Go get 'em!

Wow!  Nice shot!  That's not an easy target, and one that is not likely to give you time to carefully draw, anchor, check your form, relax, exhale, find your Zen Center, and execute a slow and comfortable release!  Nice work.  Sic Vic is on the scoreboard!

I have wrecked a bunch of arrows trying to shoot squirrels.  Hitting a deer ain't nuthin compared to connecting with those bushytails.  Good shooting!
