Title: rawhide bowstrings loops?
Post by: ozy clint on October 17, 2012, 04:26:01 am
i'm in the process of making a 2ply rawhide string. just wondering what is the best method for forming a loop on either end. i want to have a loop at one end and a timber hitch on the other.
any links to a demo would be great. been searching but can't seem to find it.

Just reverse twist a loop. If you are going to use a knot then make that section of the string thicker to combat wear.

Yes, exactly. Then just twist the other end (without making a loop) for your timber hitch.
