Title: Two man buck saw
Post by: osage outlaw on October 02, 2012, 06:07:01 pm
A guy at work gave me this saw the other day.  I'm not sure what is the best thing to do with it.  It would be cool looking hanging in my shop, but I don't really have the space for it.  It would make a lot of trade points, but I hate to cut it up.  Is it worth selling or trading?  I can't ship it, but I could bring it to the Classic next spring if anyone is interested in trading for it.   Anybody have any suggestions?

I have one just like it, Clint. I've been thinking about painting a landscape on it.

Hauling wood up a hill is hard enough work.  I'll use the gas powered version.  I'm no painter either so that's out.

OK put away it makes my back hurt just looking at it. I used to work for a surveyor who would not use a chain saw. Ron

I have one almost like that, maybe not quite as big hanging over my Mantle at my fire place. It has a land scape scene on it. Pretty cool and getting scarace. I would be hard pressed to cut it up if it was mine,to much other material out there for trade points and knife blades. :) jmo.

Clint if you are going to store it for a long time hang it from the handle you don't want it leaning for a long period of time the saw will take a memory an have a bow in it. In turn will be hard to get out  if you Ever want to use it

Dont cut it up.
We might just NEED the thing one of these days.
I have one at home....  I HOPE I never have to learn to use it.
As long as I can get fuel for a chainsaw I wont have to. ;D

Haha Blackhawk that would be fun to watch I'm not saying you can't fell a tree with a bucking saw but man y'all would be tired since its not made for that task I'd  keep it and re build it I have one of each bucking and felling saws hopefully soon il finish restoring them both it's a art to set one up with proper pitch and get every thing in the right space.

That there, folks, is one very fine "misery whip".  Ever run one?  I did.  Once.  'Nuff said.

On the other hand, I would pay good American cash money to watch you and Blackhawk do some thinning down at the Tennessee Classic grounds.  Or better yet, take on another of those mammoth osages that you seem so fond of messing with.

with my stubby T-rex arms I don't think I would be much help to Blackhawk working one of these things.  Maybe that tall guy in the pictures with Seabass could work it.  I bet he could use every tooth on that thing.

I wasn't pickin' on Steve.  I'm not making fun of anybody for being short ;)    I did enjoy the sound your melon made when it bounced off that beam Blackhawk  ;D  Every time I heard that solid thud sound I couldn't help but laugh.
