Fellas, this is what I came up with for the rest of the timber rattler skin I got from Howard. It's American Elm, self bow, 54" ntn, rigid handle (glued on from the same quartersawn). It draws 52# @ 27". The bow has taken about 3/4 to 1" of set. The edges and a small part of the belly are "cammo painted". I guess the overall shape is closest to an American flat bow.
The bow draws real smooth all the way back, with no stack (at 27"). after a few hundred arrows everything is still lookin good, and hasn;'t lost any weight. I find the grip shape "odd" after shootin all the flat bows so it'll probably get a new home. Enjoy the pics.....2 sets cause of the "6" rule.

Jon The handle is 6-1/2" fade to fade, and the leather wrap is just a little over 3" long.
Lane, they aren't all that good, sir. But it will shoot real good fer ambushes, eh?

Makes me wanna give that a go with a stiff handle. Rich you are the master of bend.

Ambushes out to 15-17 yds, yessir. 554 gr. darts.

OOOHHHH, Rich! That is sweet! Don't see many stiff handles from you, but you obviously know what you are doing.
-
looks like an awesome bow for tight spots Rich. I think the skin and paint make it a mean looking beast.
-
Thanks George, Kenny and Eric. It aint real fancy or such but it should pass for a deer killer.

All of your bows have a beautiful bend to them. No exception here.
-
It's a beauty Rich. Who needs fancy anyway :P This site ain't for fancy bows, it's for meat makers, and you sure can crank them out my friend! Thanks for the inspiration!

That bow is perfect! Great job and I love what you did with the rattler skin.
-
I like it Rich, seems like that bow would be the one on the rack speaking the loudest, 'me, take me hunting today'.

I reckon that'll work! A little long though ain't it? ;) ;D. Josh
-
Great bend! You make it look real easy ;D
-
Nice bow Rich, you sure get a lot of draw for such short limbs. That would be a good one to take into the bush :)
-
Perfect weight, perfect draw length... wish I could pull it off :)
Well done Rich.... a stiff handle 54" shorty now that take some tillering skill!!!
-
Nice bow Rich!

Lol! Your bows always impress me Rich. A lot of us, maybe even most of us think we really done something when we make a bendy handle that is only twice the draw length long. Not Rich! You gotta make one with a stiff handle and prove once again that if you got skill, rules are only guidelines. The only thing that Halfeye bends further than his bows are the general bowyers rules that rest of us think are chiseled in stone! Well done Sir! Josh

Rich, that is a work of art! I love everything about that bow. The camo job on the sides is cool. What did you use for that effect? Two bows outta the same snake eh? It was a big one. Great work my friend!!
-
Another nice one,man you turn them out. :)
