Title: Cork bow backing?
Post by: AngelDeVille on August 17, 2012, 02:19:40 am
I found a source for 1/64 cork sheets, thats the thickness of 4 sheets of paper.....

Any thoughts?

It would make a nice waterproof protection for hide glues....

Might look cool, doubt it would water proof much,at least what I have seen would probably absorb water and don't think it would protect the back much from a splinter.JMO and you know how oppions are. ;) :)

One good thing about it is if the bow is a very dense bow and you dropped it while bow fishing it would float.

I think a nice snake skin would be much better at protecting a sinew and hide glue backing.
