Ok, so this post is not so much about the little bow i turned out the night before last christmas, but more just a reason to show off some pics of my son shooting his bow. He is only two years and some change old, but he shoots his bow better than I ever have. Lately he has taking a liking to my blunt tipped flu-flus, after we broke all of his sucker shoot arrow shafts. It is funny, he can't shoot the man-sized arrows a quarter of the distance he shot his shoot shafts, but he really enjoys shooting the "big arras" I have another VM bow in the works for him...see how he likes a recurve. ;D

Aw - fantastic! He's a sweet little kid. Congratulations. Hope you have lots of fun shooting with him for many, many years. :)
-
Good job. I built all my young uns a bow and they love them too.
-
Those are some great pics!!! Hang onto those. I love the fact that the arrows look taller than him. I have more fun making kid bows than the big ones, just to see pics like that.

That's a fine lookin boy! It reminds me when my 3 sons were small and all shooting together! Enjoy him while he's little. He'll be grown and gone before you know it!!
-
I didnt even think of making a bow for my little lad as he is only 22 months. Ill get onto it this weekend!

All those pics are great, but that first one is my favorite. The angle of the photo is perfect and the intenisty in his gaze is a textbook example of "becoming the arrow". The object he's concentrating on has already been hit, and he knows it. Very cool!
;D

Awesome pics!

Awesome......he has a promising future.
-
Great pics! In few years you'll have the best hunting partner ever.
-
Thanks guys! I can hardly wait for him to start ground squirrel hunting! :) It won't be too long.
-
Ground squirrels beware, that little dude is serious. Great pics, good looking son there CMB, love to see kids having fun playing with sticks.

;) He looks ready to me! Man, those are great pics. Hang on to them, you will be looking eye to eye with him before you know it. That's a fine looking young 'un.
-
Now that is the coolest thing I have seen.
-
Best pics I've seen in a while.( no offence guys)I love to see that determination in little ones eyes. Made my day!
-
Wow! The look of intensity and determination in the lads eyes is way to cool! That would be an 8x10 on my mantle for the rest of my days if he were my son. Great job all around! Josh

ha! those are awesome photos. That Keaton is one of a kind. Looking forward to hanging out with you guys next week. I just broke Ronan's vine maple bow yesterday. >:( >:( I was thinking I might work out a deal for one of those little oceanspray staves you have and give it another shot.
-
Lulyn and I got such a delight out of those pictures of Keaton, The consentration and shear determined look on his face is priceless. ;)
-
Thanks everyone for the great comments. :) Weylin, looking forward to seeing you and the family too. I can definitely send you home with a couple ocean spray Ronan staves. You will have another bow turned out for him in no time. :) Thanks Keenan, and BTW, your website looks great. I enjoyed looking at the bows page..you sure have turned out an amazing number of beautiful bows!

I took this video of Keaton shooting that same bow about a month ago. He loves shooting and I love the way he taught himself to string an arrow.
-
That was awesome :) He sure looked proud of himself!

I fill with pride just thinking about that. Well, I was already exchanging e-mails about picking up some ad space, so I just sent the pic, mentioned some guys on the forum thought it would make a good cover, so we will see.

Looks like he enjoys it.

Thanks guys. It does fly by doesn't it Pappy! I try to remind myself that, and I know it is only going to speed up.
Trapper, he does enjoy it. He asks for his bow all the time and will spend quite a bit of time just shooting in the backyard by himself. He has always wanted to do whatever daddy is doing. My daughter on the hand likes her bow, but she is not very excited about shooting it, so I don't push it on her. I hope she does show more interest in it down the road.
-
Awesome, good for you both.

Look at those pictures, then tell me archery isn't part of our nature as creatures...

Parnell, I think it might be etched into our bones just as deeply as fire.
