I was not often here last weeks (months?), I was occupied with some other projects. This is bow I finished for a friend. Curved, knotty dogwood sapling. It is 72 ntn, 1" wide and little less thick in the handle. Was difficult to tiller beacuse uneven reflex in the outer limbs followed with one deflex spot right in front off it, everything missaligned. This is the best I could take out of this. Still holds about 1,5" of reflex, had about 2,5" reflex. Not heat treated, just heat reshaped a little to be in line. Pins left rised because I like it very much. ;D . 588 grams of physical mass. Drawn to 30", owner will pull to 28-29".

As usual, Druid, really nice bend! Gotta try one of those knotty ones, sometime. :-\

Druid I like the way you take something so ugly that only a momma could love, and turn it into something absolutely brilliant. Good job.
-
Druid, you not only build some of the coolest bows I've seen but you are a master at it. Very well done!
-
Amazing job!
-
I bow to your Druidness.... wonderfully done as always :)

Wow, this bow has more knots than all the bows displayed in the last twenty pages on Primitive Archer combined! Absolutely crazy. Great to see that dogwood can handle it, even when the belly is crowned. This gives me hope, since I also have a nice dogwood stave that has more knots than the bark could tell me in advance. Gosh, that stave has been standing in my corner for at least two years...time to finish it!
Nice work. Sweet tiller and again a typical Druid bow ;)

Ive been missing seeing your work Druid. Thanks for giving us a fix of another one of your knotty perfectly bent sticks ;)

I am glad that you liked it my friends!! I am doing my best with every stave, no matter what it looks like.
In the past months I was working intensive on improving my skills about making bows, soon I think I will be able to rise it to some better level than now. I was also working more than usuall on some warbows, they are so cool to me that I think I will make them more than ordinary bows, in the future. :o Hope to post some of them in the next days.
Also I was doing on introducing ordinary citizens and modern archers with power of the wooden bows via TV and newspaper. My plan is to make it more popular than it is now by gathering primitive shooters, promoting of bowhunt, classes in our workshop... Will see...
P.S. Ross, I vote for blackhawks yew, no doubt it is great bow.

Thank you my friends. But this is not even close to my weirdest staves. Better madness will come. ;)

Hey, I must have missed this one!
That's a great bow, dunno if I've got the balls to try such a big bow from such a slim stick...

You are the king of sapling/branch bows. I have found out the hard way that this is almost another type of bowery all together, one I'd like to learn someday. Hat's off to you Druid.

Very cool bow Druid. I really like that. God Bless
-
Could pick your stuff out of a line up first time.
Great stuff.

Will be more my friends... :)
I am forced to work more with saplings because I do not have bandsaw and I have to work with adze. Maybe it will be different soon, I hope to assemble and start one old bandsaw these days, for resawing. Then everything will be different. >:D
