Had to share this with all of ya. A while back I gave some wood bows to a neighbor, a 14 yrs old guy that's a natural. Well yesterday he went and did a glueup. Black ash belly and white ash backing.
He made the bow 58" ntn, 65# @ 28" (he draws 27" so he's drawin about 62#). He likes to do his tillering with a scraper only, and here is what he came up with. I think it's just terrific and told him so. I didn't get too many pics cause he was so excited he flat wouldn't stand too still. 8)
Enjoy the pics

Tiller doesn't get any better than that! Well done! Josh

That bend is about as perfect as it gets. Now you've done it Rich, gone and got that boy addicted. He's definitely a natural and having a master to learn from is a real plus.

Thanks so much for the nice comments, Ya he's really proud of it. It aint perfect and has about 1" of set but it shoots hard and quick.
Forgot to say he does have a name, and yes Tyler pics up stuff real quick. But I think the best part is actually knowin a young man that would rather fish and hunt than play video games. The bow is going to get finished for sure, just wanted to try and get pics while he was still workin on it so later on he would have a rememberance. Will post pics when he gets it all done.I guess the plan is a hand grip wrap and clear oil finish. Think he's gonna join up on the site too, when his mom gets to it.
Ya, he's allready got the second set glued up....a elm backed elm.
