Title: 50# Maple Longbow with Horn Nocks for trade...
Post by: toomanyknots on July 11, 2012, 07:40:08 pm
The bow I believe is around 72" ntn. 50# @ 28". There has been a small beginning of a chrysal on the lower limb since it was first shot in, but it has not increased or shown set in that limb since. And it has been shot extensively since then. The nocks are buffalo horn. The string is 3 ply irish linen with a hitch knot on the bottom and a loop on the top. The bow is so light it feels like it is made of styrofoam in your hand, and is nice and quick shooting because of it. The bows finish is a traditional burnishing with a light coat of beeswax buffed to a gloss. Please send me a Private Message if you are interested.

Also to note, this stave had a natural deflex in one limb, which you can see in the stave pictures. This deflex is the deflex you see in the unbraced pic of the finished bow. Just to note.  ;D
