Title: Saved this from the elm firewood pile. My new toy!!!
Post by: Fred Arnold on June 18, 2012, 10:37:51 pm
I'd saved a few staves/ saplings from the trees I cut last fall and finally put some time together with this one.
Still don't know if it's going to make the grade but really enjoyed the learning process. Decided to hybrid it a bit and pulls 35#@24.
The knots and high crown on this sapling dealt me fits and although the bottom limb is not as deep as the top it is still stronger.
Thinking of backing with sinew on the working portion of the limbs.

Ha Ha...  Stealth Molly...

I have to admit I have a Molly on the drawring board, right behind my Trade bow...

And I Love sapling bows.
I have two that are shooting that need finishing...  ::)
And ten or twelve in the wood rack.

We're going to sinew her back, paint her black, and call her Reload, same name I was going to take for a handle.
