Well thats it one piece didn't turn out how I wanted it came in really thick. I still have the other piece though hoping I can get something nice out of it. Seems like if you don't "follow through" with your swing that it causes steps anyone confirm this? Think if I had a lot of this I could learn a lot quicker then what I am now. Any advice with percussion? How big of a piece should this rock have yielded? That one picture is an accidental flute thought I would share looked neat to me. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks for looking!!!

Oh and what do you guys resize you pictures to? I did 400x400 but these seem huge I thought thats what the forum suggested somewhere but I may have just dreamed that up?

Good pics of reduction process. I'm not choosy when it comes to knappable rock!  Seems to me to be more of an angle of percussion/platform prep issue with the steps but just my opinion. Pic sizes are easier to compress for webpage option in Microsoft Good looking and functional point!

hey can you show us all of the tools you used. I think there is a difference in flake removal as you progress. I think you are doing amazing toward the end. For example that flake ran nice across the top. That must have made you happy. I think you are working the stone ok but i guess that the tool you are useing in the beginning is a bit light and not large enough. I hope this helps. You really are understanding how the rock works and have made a lot of progress.

I posted my reduction of an ABO blade that has kinda flat flakes. This was done with heavier tools. I will post a pic of my copper tools  in an hour. Hey Scott if you are reading this could you post a pic for him of you large bopper.

Ok why use heavier bopper.
1, more wt more energy
2, swinging slower makes you more accurate
3, you dont get tired
4, wider flakes
