Title: another pipe ,mostly done.
Post by: Josh B on May 25, 2012, 09:55:09 am
This is another soapstone pipe that I've been working on.  The stem is Russian olive with three coats of finish.  The bowl is pretty dull looking right now, but it will shine up nicely with a minimal amount of buffing.  All that's left to do is decorating and a pipe bag.  Thanks for looking.  Josh

Thanks for the kind words! Rich, there are a lot of things I can't make.  Time and money come to mind, right off.  But time can't be stopped for anyone and I've never met anyone who  has made enough money.  So there's no need to worry about those.  Dave, I got this stuff at the Pipestone trading post in Pipestone, Mn.  But, I have seen it other places as well.  I believe it is quarried in Michigan and Canada.  Its a little harder stone than catlinite,  but its not bad to work with.  Josh
