Beautiful, great job man, check out my new shafts http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,32860.0.html just finished them lastnight, i used an oak dowel for the trade point

Feathers are wrapped with real sinew. Glued down with hide glue.

That's a beautiful arrow. I have done the same as you ,osage nocks in switchcane,and the nocks were bad to split.If I were you,I'd wrap them with sinew to the throat of the nock.I know,they won't be as pretty,but you'll get more use out of them. JMHO  God bless

I've used Osage for years, spliced into pine or cedar and have never had one split unless hit with another arrow, using an eighty pound long bow. The growth rings are pretty tight here with the shorter growing season, maybe that makes a difference, don't know.

all of your guys work looks great, Robby that looks beautiful, i was thinking about a horn nock, one made out of horn likr raptor archery's pheonix arrows, wish i had the skill and materials for it LOL

I always cut the nock across the grain and haven't had one split yet. But I don't shoot the super heavy bows like a lot of guys do. I prefer to shoot bows in the 50 to 55 pound range.
