I teach college and my summer started today. I like having the summer off but it makes going back to work hard. What would you do it you had the summer off? Then I will tell what I am going to do.
-
I'd go some fishing camping on the Ocone river catch up on some stuf around home catch up on some blacksmith work. etc etc. Ron
-
That's easy... ;D
-
I work all the time. Va what? You can come visit me in Yosemite and we can break rocks and bread! You can stay at our house and demonstrate with me in Yosemite. Then we can fish and swim and......
-
Be careful, you could have a few old retired guys on your doorstep pretty quick... O wait, I just wish I was retired. :-\

let me think....what will i do this summer :-\ ?OH i know :D fish, shoot bow, work, fish, make bow(repeat till i have to go to school) ;D

Who thought a fishhead would have that much sense?
I'm working on the calendar for the summer. I'm filling out every date that is scheduled for some event or other than I cannot avoid...and then blocking out the weekends and the events that I want for myself. Once I have those dates on the calendar I promise and vow to call my own time sacred and not give it up for anyone or anything. After last year's miserable record of ZERO NITES CATFISHING I am changing my ways.

Hey jw how you doing! I just wanted you to know that we took your bow to the classic and Isaac finished in the middle for his age group. We also finished his new bow but are still sanding a finish on it. You were a good influence on him and this has made a difference in his life. Shoot me a PM with your address and phone number please.
Anyway I am going to take a couple weeks off from work and make art and build another bow. Then I decided to teach a summer class for extra money to vacation toward the southwest and maybe stop and see jackcrafty on my way to NM to see my son.

I've got a few weeks to go. So YosemiteBen, that's a standing invitation? Fish huh? Flyfishing?
Be careful what you wish for...

I've been off mostly my whole life. NO JOKE Thats what I've kept telling myself. Not many people get to make a liveing at what the love to do. I think I came make it one more summer. From the end of gobbler season to AUG I fly fish mainly. The summer here in WV. Throw in a few camping trips with my sons along water ofcorse. Then it's back to chaseing bucks for me.
IT'S BEEN A HARD LIFE

Thursday was our kids first day back :)
wow, is it just me or does that seem early? im going back ( or i should say moving in) sept 2 :'(
-
Clint, do the kids get a two week break after each nine weeks of school? My kids start Monday and I don't get students until Wednesday. Puts a crimp in my knapping and bow building time ;)
Tracy

They have a week off in Oct., 2 weeks off in Dec.-Jan, and a week off in March. It looks like they are just giving them a longer fall break and Christmas break. Looking at their schedule they have a few weeks of intersession. I'm not sure what that is. I'll have to ask the wife when she wakes up.
With my work schedule, school starting gives me more bow building time.

That sounds like a great summer Iowabow.
Tracy, the kids do have two weeks off after every 9 weeks. They have scheduled every friday in the spring as snow make up days. If they don't have any snow days, they will have 3 day weekends.
-
Impressive summer vacation John 8). Clint, I'll probably on that schedule next year, which will be great for fall bowhunting camp and early duck season.

@ Parnell - Usually any invitation we extend is open and standing - not very many take us up on it though. Lots of family around here in Cali and only very few have made the time to stop by.
@ the rest of you PA'ers - If you happen to find yourself in my area - look me up - If I got time I will be happy to share it with you and show you around my "office"
