I ve built several board bows (successfully) out of boards from Big box stores. I believe they are kiln dried.I was recently gifted some full 1" x 6" rough cut red oak boards that were cut last year, air dried.Question is will these work better than the kiln dried boards? Ive got one started, seems to be easier to work with so far. Grain is very straight on the one im using.

Air dried wood works just as good as kiln dried wood. It's one of those old myths that keeps floating in the books...

Some of the quickest bows I've made were from kiln dried red oak. I, too, would say no difference. Jawge
