Gonna try this I got some west texas chert in the mail and got at it. So far so good. Decided to stop while i was ahead.

looks like you are taking a good run at it!

That's a good start seider. Can't be afraid to turn it into gravel, though. I like to make up several just a little furthur along than that one, then work them down a little more and put them aside and keep working them in progression. If I come to a tough spot, I just put it down when I get frustrated and pick up another one. Then come back to the frustration one later. I've got a pile of pieces all @ different levels in the pit and in my knapping bag. It's kinda tricky going from stage to the next, so I like to have a few going @ the same time. keep on knappin, dpgratz

Looks like some of Kinley's rock. You got a good start on it, It will be thin an pointy in no time ;D. Myself i love to make preforms an then the work starts , lot harder for me to finish them out than to make preforms. Later Bob

Great start. Thin it on down or break it . That's the only way to improve yourself.

Yea I am having to slow down and not hit
As hard have been use to working raw rock. Thanks

Looks good! I turned one about that size into gravel on Monday.

Well I had it thinned down pretty good for me about 3/16" and shapped nice but my mom showed up before i could finish it or take a picture of it and she ran off with it. If i get up to her house i will take a picture and post.
