I have been breaking rocks with hammers since I was little, I have a natural understanding of cleavage and fracture, I have been trying on some flint with a chunk of metal and a nail, I got close twice only to break them to tiny peices, I think that I need to use more delecate tools, but what can I use?
I wasted my two best peices of rock and can't help but think that there must be a better way.
Also how do I thin(process&tools) and what should I use as a surface to break on

you can use small round hammer stones and deer antler bone or copper and you need a pressure flaker

Thanks bub, that ite helps a lot, it also taught me how many rocks I can't use, I need to go to where I found those two pieces of flint and get more, it will take some rock hounding but I think that I will be able to get this :)

do not ignore glass. Bottle bottoms can help you learn pressure flaking.
