Hey everyone,
I've been making arrows for some evenings now, including these two cause I absolutely want some whistling (or even better: screaming) arrows. I've seen the ping pong ball thing, but it does not meet my aesthetic taste and ideas. So I tried some natural local material and found nutshells and chestnut shells might actually do the job.
But it's been raining for days and forcast says it is gonna continue for some more days, so I'll have to wait. Meanwhile, I'll take bets
Will they work? what do you think?
I'll inform you of the results once it dries up!

Look pretty good. Never thought of nutshells/chestnuts.

8) nice looking arrows. My bet is the walnut might make some noise, but will busts on the first shot. Buckeye...?? don't know. Keep us posted. dpg

yeah, not much hope for that nut arrow. :'( If it gives me a nice scream on its way out I'll try making one with the nut further back the shaft.
Hope that rain stops soon...

All my arrows are nut arrows. ;D
Post your results!

Surprisingly enough, the sun came out this afternoon (central european time), so I could shoot them. Just when I stepped out, a squirrel ran by. I felt a twitch of temptation, but I resisted O:)
Both arrows made a clear, nice whistle 8)
And much to my surprise, they took five high shots each without braking. They may be nuts, but they're robust nevertheless

8)...so...on the sixth shot did they break? :o ;D, dpg
