I really like this HHB selfbow I just finished. I cut the tree, in the woods where I deer hunt, in January 2011, squared out the stave and let it sit for a year. In January 2012 I removed the bark, cut it down to rough bow dimensions and dry heated it into reflex. April 2012, tillered the bow, toasted the belly and had about 1" of reflex left. After shooting several hundred times, it still holds 1/2" of reflex at rest. Toasting made the limbs "feel" lighter and quicker. this bow throws an impressive arrow without handshock or vibration. No string silencers needed.

Bow is 1 9/16" wide at the fades and 9/16" at the nocks. 67" ntn, it pulls 60# @ 28". Tip overlays are Osage. Back is stained with Fiebing's light brown leather dye. (Came out sorta reddish.) Grip is capybara hide, (largest rodent in the world) given to me by a friend who bowhunted in South America. Finish is Tru-Oil sprayed with Spar Urethane to waterproof and cut glare.
Critique away, boys! (I have thick hide. lol)

I really like that bow, any chance of the money shot???

I took this HHB bow out this evening and shot it for distance. It consistently shoots a 525 grain cedar shaft arrow 165 to 170 yards. I guess this doesn't mean a thing except that, by my own unscientific testing, it performs right up there with any Osage bow I've ever built. I really like HHB!
