just an idea.
reckon some of you have already thought of this and are doing so but...
for those who havent.
recently put an ad on the local craigslist seeking turkey feathers.
have had two responses from local folks who raise turkeys
and have already been given the feathers from one tom that was killed by a coon.
lovely black and white feathers from a royal palm.
this couple and the other contact i have made raise varieties of turkeys so will have many colors of feathers.
they are willing to just give me feathers.
the second contact also runs a post yard so there may be hedge available too.
they are about 1 1/2 hrs away but im gonna make a trip out soon,
check out their trees and see if they have any bow wood on their property.
anyhoos, most arrow makers i know are always on a quest for feathers so ya may wanna give craigslist a go.

Nice score!

Good deal Sadie. I am a huge fan of craigslist. I've got most of my tools from there. You could dye some of those feathers with kool-aid and get some awesome color combos.
Have you done a craigslist search for osage, hedge, or hedgeapple? Sometimes you can find people selling osage fence posts. Usually they are cheap.

Sadie, I just put the word out at the Check Stations and in the camp grounds in the Managment Area I hunt. I usually end up with more than enough for free.

Good deal, tame aren't as good as the wild ones but for free can't beat that. :) :) That's where the ones you buy come from. :) :)
