Can a turkey skin be brain tanned like deer, elk, etc? Or is it different for bird hides?

I really doubt it, but I'm not sure. They have a lot of fat in the little pores, and you have to be real careful not to tear them while stretching and working the skin.

I've read that ostrich is the only bird that has skin that can be tanned.

I've seen Emu also, but they are about the same bird. They taste the same, anyway. :)
