...and...!

So I cut it down and cut off a 72" piece which I then packed 1 1/2 miles to the truck, (sucker was heavy too) got it home, and rooted around the shop for the better part of an hour until I found my froe, which hasn't seen the light of day for at least ten years, then it only took me twenty minutes to find the bowling pin I use for a mallet, I then proceeded to split it in half, it was absolutely beautiful straight grain few if any pin knots, pity about the ninety degree twist in six feet

What kind of tree is it?
-
Yeah what is it. And that twist does not look bad.....
-
Cascara.
I'll split it into quarters, throw it in the steam box and untwist it, there's 63" piece still out there and it does look as if the upper portion of the trunk straightens out
