I hope this is the right section, please move if not.
I have recently played Wii Archery.
Quite fun, especially if you have the bow controller.
Here is the project I am looking for advice on...
The Bow controller sucks, but bette than not having one.
What would it take to convert a real bow to the task of being a Wii adaptor?
The requirements are three fold, not all are difficult.
1) Must be able to hole the Wiimote at the handle in place securely.
2) The nunchuck but be secured to the string.
3) The bow must withstand being dry fired.
Now 1 and 2 can be easily done, canibalizing a Wii bow will suffice for this aspect.
But dry firing is the biggest concern.
Anyone have ideas?

Make a PVC "dry fire" bow? I know a lot of guys use these for release training.
-
With the weight of the nun-chuck on the string it wouldn't really be dry firing.
-
Or, go outside and shoot a bow?
-
HA!!!!
Nice. Actually I do but not always convenient.
Just because I like to shoot doesn't mean all my friends do!
Plus it is a nice bit of indoor fun.
LOL
;D
Regarding PVC:
I was wondering about PVC. Even found resources for making them.
I had even considered converting a cheap fiberglass bow as well.
Regarding nun-chuck, I had not considered the weight of the nun-chuck.
So perhaps this is going to be easier than I thought.
Thanks for your ideas and much welcome sarcasm!

I thought I had that title to myself...

I think its an awesome Idea....I'd just get concerned with the Nunchuck on the string flying off once you fire it...dont need to hurl that controller at 150fps through your TV! lol

Hmm I have had my video game period. but then again, I'm 28 and have a father who is a programmer. That and the fact that I am a business student I sadly spend way to much in front of a computer.
But I do hope for a reason to spend a few hours in the forest shooting pine cones :)
