can a rawhide backing be done with TBIII or do i need the Hide-Glue? i have been poking around, but haven't seen much about it. thanks guys

As a quick answer tb2 or tb3 will work fine... There are probably a half dozen topics in the first 4 page of this board that discuss rawhide backin in some detail if you look around a little more... Good luck.

I love hide glue. Make my own from scratch. Love it's working time and how it is natural. Great stuff.
Can't stand using it for glueing down rawhide backing!!! Too slippery, takes too long to get tacky enough for me to stretch the rawhide and work out the air bubbles...and by then you can't push out excess glue because it has set up into Knox Blox. I use TBII. But that's just me. Your mileage may vary. There are others in here that use nothing but hide glue for their rawhide backings. I hope to have one of them help me with a backing job some day so I can add that to my trickbag.

thanks guys. yeah right after i posted, i did one more search and found a whole tutorial, go figure ;)
