Title: Tillering string?

hey guys, just wondering what kind of string to use as a tillering string? let alone where to find it. I looked through my local home-Depot today and couldnt find anything that had the desired test i wanted...

I just twisted up a long single loop string out of B-50.  A bowyers knot makes it easily adjustable.

I use a fastflight tillering string from three rivers also.

I use a piece of para cord for initial long stringing but soon move to a tiller string I made with 16 strands of B-50 and has a loop for the top limb and a bowyers know for the bottom. I use this tiller string for any bow, 47" to 68" so far.

I use old bow strings or a ff string for tillering. Just regular strings. Jawge

Is there a post on how to make either a tillering string or a bow string. I've entered several subjects and come up dry.

There are some youtube videos on making a bow string.  There is a DVD called "Doing the twist" that covers several types of strings.

I normally just use an old string, but I recently made a string that had a flemish twist on one end and a bowyers knot on the other. I left it quite long so it can fit any length bow I will ever want to make.
