Title: Bone for bow tips?
Post by: paulsemp on February 05, 2012, 05:28:05 am
Have any of you guys used bone for tip overlays? My dog gets plenty of shank bones so my collection is growing. I have used antler but not bone. If so how do you cure it? and what type of glue is used? THANKS

I just use dried bone, cut it and grind it to shape and glue it just like with antler, wood or whatever. I've used super glue(gel works best) TBI, II, III, and 2ton epoxy, all with good results.
If the bone still has marrow or grease on or in it alcohol or acetoine will degrease it.
