Title: Maul? Hawk? Tomahawk? Axe
Post by: Baldmoose on February 05, 2012, 05:12:55 am
Not sure what to call this. any ideas? i made this about a month ago.   The head is obsidian, handle is from a birch log, pitch, sinew and hyde glue also used. heat used to bend.

Yeah i knapped the obsidian,  I got this big bulky 1 lb chunk from nativewayonline, turns out it worked perfect for the head. I was pretty happy when that head came about... Had a hard time calling that head done....

The axe or whatever it is, digs into wood pretty good. i was able to use it to split a couple really dry pine logs.... When it hits wood at a great speed it creates mini flakes which sharpen itself.

I think that would bolster your argument at the poker table that four clubs and a spade is close enough to be called a flush.
