Met a young man last Sunday at a shoot. He was new to trad shooting. Did pretty well. Wanted a wooden bow though. So I invited him to my shop. We tried a hickory board bow, but it cracked. Then we tried a hickory stave, but it was still too wet. Finally I found a hickory recurve that I had finished at Twin Oaks two years ago. It was a little heavy for him, so I shaved it down to 40# at 26". It is 60" long ntn and about 1 1/2" wide at the fades. Painted green. Yellow heart and purple heart on the tips and handle. It shoots pretty well. He loves it. That's the main thing. Another convert.

Nice bow!
There should be a law against getting people hooked on bows, you pusher!

Good job on spreading the love. Nice bow too. Danny

Hey Dan. Good to see you are still poking your head in to PA. Nice little recurve and a very nice gesture...but I'm not surprised by either! ;) Hope to see you at the Classic this spring.

That's really cool. I bet he'll get a lot of fun out of that bow.

Very cool gesture, very cool curve as well.

Thanks, guys. I expect he will be back soon, wanting to build his own. Sorry I have not been on the board in a while, but I am still building quite a few bows, but I seldom have anything as good as what you guys are turning out these days. My goodness, how this craft has grown in the last twenty years.
