Title: Heat Straightening Question
Post by: Strongbow on January 25, 2012, 09:35:52 pm
Got a few arrows in my latest batch that still need a little straightening.  They are finished up with Tru-Oil.  Is it safe to use heat to straighten them?  Thanks

I would use very light heat with finished shafting...Like a blow dryer or a heat gun on a low setting and then you still run the risk of messing up your finish... depending on the shafting material you might be able to generate enough heat from rigorously rubbing the shaft and hand straightening..or just hand strengthening w/o heat.

Not sure if you used any duco, but that stuff will ignite fairly easily - DAMHIKT.
