Ya I know it has take a while but finely calling it done.I have a hundred or so arrows through it and other than the one problem I had early on in the top snake and the propeller in the same area that make it a bugger to tiller, you keep having to look at one side and then the other ,all seems fine.It is smooth to draw,no shock and hits where you look. What more could you ask from a bow.
It turned out 47@26 , 61 inches n-n Osage billets [from Shannon],deer antler tips [From Pappy] Elk hide grip and striker from [WolfWatcher] Timber skins from [ :-\ ] Rawhide from [Pappy] This has been a fun project and I think it has been fun
for all those that have been around and gave me a hand now and then.Hope yall enjoy. :) :)

Very nice, Pappy! Them snakey bows sure have an appeal to them. I think that the value of snakey osage, just went up!

I just don't know what to say . . . that is something else! Nice work Pappy, to say the very least!
-
I think this is the most beautifull bow I have ever seen. When I find some words I will comment this beauty! One thing: please make some pics on some more uniform background, hard to see this awsome work on backgrounds like these.
-
No words suffice. Just wow.

A possible candidate for the cover of the next Bowyers Bible? Sheesh Pappy, that one sums up the whole of the craft.
-
That came out great, Pappy! Nice job on a difficult stave! Jawge
-
Amazing job Pappy! Truly inspirational, to the point of me wanting to go dig through my pile of Yellar Wood looking for the most snaky and twisted chunk I can find >:D
Oh, and please never apologize for lots of pics...you know we all love tons of pics so more the merrier in my mind 8)

Had to go back and look at the pictures a few times. Love the character, skins look great and especially like them over the side on this bow. Maybe its the timber rattler, but for a rattle snake skin, those skins look better than any I've seen. Would like to see a closer shot of the middle to outer 3rd showing the skins but don't go to any trouble, love what you've done already. Can you tell that I like this bow?
Very nice indeed and thanks for the adrenalin rush.
-
Sweet bow. Wood like that doesnt come along often, and is a pleasure to posses. Congrats.
-

Its a pleasure to know you. I only hope I can learn half of what youve forgotten sir. Thank you for being you! :) :) :) And never apalogize for 2 many pics...the more the BETTER!

I could not think of any words to do it justice ...so please reread will h's post's they cover it quite nicely :o ;)
-
Amazing bow Pappy, might be the snakiest crazyest coolest bow I have ever seen.Great detail and art as well.-Hammertime
-
very nice bow Paps , lot more finish work than ive ever dreamed of ! can we congradulate you now for the backed bom or should we wait ?
im not sure if it could get better than that for a snakey bow
-
Ken, I think it's gonna take the self bow honors. It just has a snakeskin backing, which won't put it in with the backed bows? It would likely take whatever class it is in.

George
George. It may need a class of it's own ...wow that is cool! !!
-
OW my toe!!!! My jaw just crunched it on the way to the floor! Thats VERY beautiful :)
-
Thanks so much folks, you are :-[ ing me. Dave No your sad eyes ant going to work on this one,its staying home with the 3 sisters. ;) :) :) Seabass it lives at the cabin so it will be around at the Classic. George it has a rawhide back under the snake skins, risky enough with rawhide, more than I could stand without. ;D ;D It is a very thin picece of rawhide from A button buck Shannon killed and we turned into rawhide.Thin and slick. Thanks again, means a lot. :)
Pappy
-
O, you're right Pappy, I missed that post of yours before...probably was still shell shocked from the pictures. :-[ Lovely bow in a class by itself for sure.
George
-
Pappy, what a masterpiece...
-
Pappy that is one Sick Stick! Incredible in everyway. Few people could have pulled that one off, but you certainly were up to the challenge. Excellent detail work with the tips, skins and especially the handle. A bow like that will turn heads where ever it goes and is the stuff dreams are made from. Take that beauty to a few compound shoots and we will have a whole new influx of conversions. Well done my friend!
-
Not sure how I missed this one before, but sure am glad I saw it now! Can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. Thanks for sharing Pappy!
-
Pappy, what can I say that has'nt already been said....all of the explitives are appropriate. I think the thing that sticks out the most is that it truely is in a class by itself. I have a couple really snakey staves in the shed that I'm holding on until I am confident I have learned the patience necessary to do them justice. Thanks for the inspiration. Danny
-
Wow, it did turn out dang nice!
Great job buddy.
-
Thanks folks,much appreciated. :)
Pappy
-
I know you put your heart and all your talent into this bow Pappy, and to me it serves as a testiment of your years of experience and devotion to this craft.
-
Pappy your work never ceases to amaze me, when i tried a stave that snakey it was a pain to tiller and after all the work the high crown (really high) popped up, the break doesnt go below the highest part of the crown, from your expeirence would it be oK to glue it down and then put a rawhide backing or should i just take wood off of the back of the bow and take the crown down eliminating the snakey effect on the high crown
-
Pappy, ditto to all those comments above. I am just replying so that you don't think I don't admire the finished product. Simply amazing. I know you are very proud of this bow, as well you should be.

BOM ? I think BOY...

Wow Pappy that thing looks great. You better not lay it down or somebody might chop its head off. Awsome bow.
-
I couldn't have placed that wood in better hands. I knew if it could be done...you could do it! You're an inspiration to all of us. AWESOME BOW PAP!
-
Beautiful bow very nice work.Love it.
EN
-
Don't forget where you set that down in the woods or you might mistake it for a snake and try to beat it with a stick
-
:o Uhhh, I know I should say something . Indeed I want to say something that is worthy of that bow. There just ain't any words that do it justice! Believe or not, I'm speechless. Josh
-
Thanks Shannon, I appreciate that. :) :) Thanks to the rest of yall for the kind comments. :) :)
Pappy
-
Truly Awesome. I can't even imagine being able to follow that grain when drawing up the bow dimensions, let along tillering that out and making a bow. Great work Pappy.
~Barry
-
>:D Verry nice >:D I like it.
Katt
-
I cannot believe the patience you must have, you must have had a lot of confidence to undertake a stave that snakey

Yes I've seen a thread about it on here and on YT. I'd love to go but I'll have my wife and 2.5 year old daughter to consider. How family friendly is the event? It's a hull for my daughter in the car also I'll have to consider.

Thanks Guys,Never heard any complants PAHunter. Might not want to stay around the camp fire way up in the night but I suspect most events are like that. :) Thanks for spreading the word blackhawk. :)
