Title: little Medicine Knife / flint ridge dovetail
Post by: half eye on January 14, 2012, 12:47:05 pm
Hey fellas,
made some hunting arrows using lake erie heads and one small Cahokian.....but I had this small flintridge dovetail, so I thought I make it up into a "medicine Knife" hope ya like it. The knapping is by Dan Hamblin out in Utah. the blade is 5/8" wide and 1-1/2" long

Those look purddier than a new set of mud tires. Think I'm gonna make me a small knife for my hat band.

Rich,

I love that knife.  I feel sorry for the critter that is on the receiving end of any of those arrows.  Proud to have my points on those.  I hope those primitive points get you the same results as this hunting season.

Thanks George.  My best reward for hobby knapping is to make points and knives that are really used and not put on a shelf somewhere.   I will make points of any type for anyone that will accept my little quirks about what makes an effective hunting point.   I really want them to do the job.  Halfeye sure knows how to make me look good.  Thanks again for the welcome.
